3. Make some decisions-- is your essay going to be about character? plot? mood? setting? 
4. Write a 1st draft thesis statement for each prompt
   1. include prompt words in each
   2. underline the prompt words that address the question 
5. Write 1st draft paragraph topics for each thesis
   1. what will each paragraph be about? summarize it in a few words
   2. what will your evidence in each paragraph be? make notes, don't write answers
